Waking-Up the Heart Rate - Wet the pads
The Heart Rate connects like a conventional chest strap heart rate sensor. It needs to be worn to start detecting the heart rate.
A common issue is that it takes a while to wake up and connect when the skin is dry - which is typical before starting an activity.
The easy solution is to wet the rubber pads that are against the skin, this quickly helps the conductivity and allows it to wake up and connect.
Some athletes choose to use electrode gel which helps.
Heart Rate Sensor - Version 2 Replacement
We replace HR sensors (with flashing blue / red light). Some customers were affected by irregular heart rate data and took steps to address this by replacing these with Version 3. Many customers have received this or received our email notification with the delivery of remaining replacements in April 2026.
If you have this model HR sensor and have not already registered for the replacemet, please email support@tymewear.com and provide your name, address, phone number, original order number and the email address (that was used to order).
Heart Rate Sensor - Connection Solutions
The Heart Rate sensor allows limited bluetooth connections and multiple ANT+ connections. Please ensure that the sensor is not already connected to another device already.
When you are not wearing the HR sensor, to ensure it disconnects and sleeps properly, to conserve power, unclip one or both sides.
The Heart Rate sensor sleeps without inactivity, to wake it-up it needs to be properly connected to the HR strap and worn (so that it can detect the HR). Allow some time to wake up and if it is slow, wetting the rubber pads (that touch the skin) will help speed this.
If you are connect the HR sensor to the Tymewear App - it does not connect automatically, click the bluetooth icon to open "My Devices" (Or access over the side menu) and click to connect the HR sensor.

In the case it doesn't connect immediately, you may need to try again if it is still waking up.

The heart rate sensor will then be shown as 'Connected'.
Please Note - if you start an activity in the App and have connected, it can take a few moments fro the heart rate metrics to appear.
