Connecting External Sensors
In addition to breathing and heart rate metrics, captured by the VitalPro, you will get a complete profile by including power/pace metrics.
It is as simple as connecting to your existing devices so that the Tymewear App can automatically capture the data during activities.
How to connect other sensors
Step 1: Inside the Tymewear App, use the top-right Bluetooth icon to open up the “External Sensors” page.
Step 2: Then click “Add a Device” and follow the prompts to connect your power meter, indoor bike trainer, treadmill, sport watch or other bluetooth sensors. Check that the sensors are on (awake) when connecting and not already connected to other devices.
Once completed, the Tymewear App will then automatically connect to paired sensors (that are available) and capture these metrics during activities and synchronise with your breathing and heart rate data.
Further information is available in Recording Activities.
Limited bluetooth connections
Most sensors have a limited number of available Bluetooth connections. If they are paired and actively connected to one device, the sensors may not be available to connect.
If you have multiple devices (phone, tablet, garmin), these can compete - for the Threshold Test and activities recorded via the Tymewear App, remove other devices from the equation and check that the heart rate, breathing and power / pace metrics are actively displaying.
Erg - Indoor trainers (Smart Bike Trainers)
For the Threshold Test, the erg should only be connected to the Tymewear App. Even if it allows multiple bluetooth connections, other devices / platforms can override the power settings and disrupt the Threshold test.
Most well known brand name smart trainers will allow erg control for the Threshold Thest. (For activities started on the timewear app, if you swipe to the last screen there is the option to set erg power level).

Help with Ergs
Currently the Erg Mode is available in the Threshold Test and controls the power automatically. Inside the Tymewear App free workouts and guided workouts, if the Erg is connected, an additional screen will be available where manual power value can be sent to the Erg.
Compatible Ergs have a bluetooth connection that allow FTMS connections. Some older smart trainers may not have this so please check the specs.
Currently there is no automatic Erg power control in guided workouts, this is on the way.
If your Smart Trainer is connected however you can get erg-mode or send power, please check:
• On iPad the Erg-mode option may not be available - use a smart phone
• Update your smart trainer to the latest firmware
• Disconnect any other platforms / hardware from your erg as this can control / interrupt the power
• Some Ergs won't allow a power as low as 70watts (the default start of the Threshold test). In this case, start at 100 Watts (with the same increment, 20 watt increase every 3 minutes).
Please note that Gym Bikes may not support the standards to allow the bluetooth connection, data transfer and erg control.
